Introduction to Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is great for relieving stress, and promoting relaxation. As a type of yoga therapy, restorative yoga is practiced by many who are working through an injury, and need something very gentle.

Restorative yoga is actually the very first type of yoga that I taught, and I’m glad to be able to offer it on demand.

Self Care Week Class – July 14, 2021

  • 15-supported bound angle

  • 5-reclining cross legs pose

  • 3-supported forward bound angle pose

  • 5-supported seated-angle pose

  • 5-supported child’s pose

  • 15 or time left-basic relaxation pose with calves supported

Required Props:

  • Bolster

  • 5 blankets

  • Strap

  • Sandbag (optional)

Restorative Yoga for Insomnia

  • Supported Reclining Pose – 10 minutes

  • Supported Bound-Angle Pose – 10 minutes

  • Mountain Brook Pose – 4 minutes

  • Elevated Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose – 10 minutes

  • Supported Seated-Angle Pose – 2 minutes

  • Basic Relaxation Pose – 5 minutes

Required Props:

  • Blankets (4)

  • Bolster

  • Strap/Belt

  • Block

  • Wall

  • Eye Pillow

  • Legs up the wall – 7 minutes

  • Supported Bridge pose – 8 minutes

  • Supported Bound Angle Pose – 7 minutes

  • Stonehenge – 10 minutes

Required Props:

  • Blankets (4)

  • Bolster

  • Strap/Belt

  • Block

  • Eye Pillow

    • Optional : Two bolsters and one small towel

  • Supported Child’s pose – 3 minutes

  • Basic Relaxation Pose – 7 minutes

Required Props:

  • Wall

  • Bolster

  • Blanket

  • Eye Pillow

    • Optional : Extra blanket, sand bag/bag of rice, two small towels
